When the idea was earlier raised by the government, AstraZeneca said the Thai production facility "is of critical importance" to the region and the company is working with the Thai and other governments to "continue to deliver equitable vaccine access to the region.
As per the Tourism Authority of Thailand, starting May 1, visitors will not have to get tested before coming or upon arrival, irrespective of their vaccination status.
Trisulee said the government may raise the share of AstraZeneca vaccine made in Thailand that must stay in Thailand rather than insisting on an exact number of doses, though officials have not yet decided.
