Meanwhile, the Taliban renamed the airport to Kabul International Airport, eliminating the reference to former Afghan President.
At least 15 people have been officially confirmed dead at the airport, but those at the scene said the number was much higher.
It reopened on 4 September.
The airport and the terminal building were constructed and financed by the Soviet Union.
Taliban fighters are in control of the roads and multiple checkpoints leading to the airport, where they have to control crowds since seizing power.
